Street on the NE *Oppian in the area known as *Figlinae. It is not clear if via in figlinis (Varro, Ling. 5.50) merely describes the general location of a ‘street in the potters’ district’ or if it refers to a specific ‘Potters Street’, though the latter does provide a convenient name for labelling purposes. It has generally been identified with the road, attested on the Severan Marble Plan (Rodríguez Almeida, Forma pl. 10), which led S from the *Clivus Suburanus toward the circular feature located SE of the *Porticus Liviae (s.v. *Figlinae: Circular Wall), then E along Vicolo delle Sette Sale (Rodríguez Almeida, Astolfi, Häuber 22-24). The exact course of the ancient street along this last stretch is not known (Häuber 38), but presumably it led to the Casina Gai (s.v. *Turris Maecenatiana), where it joined a street, perhaps known as the *“Vicus Curvus/Corvi” (s.v. *Oppius Mons: Street; viewed as a continuation of the Via in Figlinis by Häuber).
