Stables for the horses belonging to the racing teams (factiones) in Rome, located in the W *Campus Martius near the *Trigarium (Reg. Cats., Regio IX: stabula ... factionum; Nordh 86, Coarelli). In the Augustan period there were four factiones: Albata, Prasina, Russea, and Veneta.

The factio Prasina was located near the Church of S. Lorenzo in Damaso, which retained the topographical attribute in its alternate mediaeval name: S. Laurentii in Prasino; an inscription mentioning the statio Prasina was found in situ nearby (CIL VI 10058). This area is marked by an index number on our map. About 50 m to the E, the possible remains of the factio Veneta were unearthed beneath Palazzo Regis and Palazzo Farnese (Lanciani, FUR pl. 20). Although the locations of the other two factiones are unknown, several inscriptions found within a restricted area (CIL XV 7254; ILS 5310; CIL VI 10045, 10077, 33945) suggest that the two stables were located next to each other. Moreover, corroborating evidence for this location is offered by the existence of the V[ICVS STA]BLARIVS in this area (Rodríguez Almeida, Forma frags. 272, 275, 285; contra, Castagnoli 1985, 207 n.9, who restores V[ICVS BV]BLARIVS).
