Funerary monument dedicated to C. Vibius Pansa Cetronianus, consul in 43 B.C. with A. Hirtius (s.v. *Sepulcrum: A. Hirtius), who died the same year. The actual structure has not been found, but a large travertine slab, carrying the dedicatory inscription EX S(ENATVS) C(ONSVLTO) C. VIBIO C.F. CETRONIAN(O) CO(N)S(VLI) (CIL VI 37077=ILS 8890=ILLRP 421) was uncovered beneath Palazzo Italiani in the W *Campus Martius (Tomassetti, Gatti). The proximity of the *Sepulcrum: A. Hirtius to the findspot of Pansa’s dedicatory inscription indicates that the latter had his resting place nearby and shared the honor of a public burial.

Whether the structure was located inside or outside the pomerium in the Augustan period has been speculated (Macciocca, Coarelli, De Caprariis 162-63, La Rocca; on the pomerium, s.v. *Campus Martius). An inscription dedicated by C. Vibius T.f. (CIL VI 3542), a nephew of C. Vibius Pansa Cetronianus, once suggested that he may have built a monumental funerary structure for his wife and brother-in-law in the *Campus Martius (Richardson 358); however, the findspot of this inscription has been identified near Monte Testaccio (Ferrua 9; contra, CIL VI 3542), and Richardson’s hypothesis has been refuted.
