Gate in the Servian Wall (*Muri: Quirinalis) along the steep N slope of the *Quirinal, located near the present-day Via della Quattro Fontane. No architectural remains survive and the position of the gate is estimated based upon the hypothetical path of the Servian Wall and several preserved sections of road (CAR II, H no. 115; I no. 127). The name derives from the nearby sacellum Quirini (Paulus, in Festus 303: Quirinalis porta; *Quirinus, Aedes). Lanciani reports that remains of stairs were seen during excavations in 1892 (FUR pl. 16; CAR II, H no. 122); these cappellaccio steps in opus quadratum may have been associated with the gate (Carafa 130, Coarelli). Given the speculative nature of the gate’s position, it can be indicated only by an index number.
