Temple dedicated to Honos, possibly also to Virtus, located outside the *Porta Collina (Cic., Leg. 2.23.58: extra portam Collinam aedem Honoris), and known only through literary and epigraphic evidence. A dedication to Honos (CIL VI 30913) found c. 35m from the Colline Gate confirms the location given by Cicero. An inscription to Virtus (CIL VI 31061), found between the Baths of Diocletian and Via XX Settembre, may point to the presence of a double cult at this site, as seen at the city’s two other temples to Honos (s.v. *Honos et Virtus, Aedes [ad portam Capenam], [Velia]. No archaeological remains have been found and the exact site, form and size of the temple are unknown; for this reason, the temple is only indicated with an index number on our map.
