Early-1st c. A.D. residence NW of the *Forum Augusti, which abutted the hemicycle and the “Sala del Colosso”. An arcaded court once belonging to the residence survives incorporated into the Casa dei Cavalieri di Rodi, which now stands on the site. These architectural remains have been associated with Sextus Pompeius since his domus is known to have been located in close proximity to the Forum of Augustus (Ov., Pont. 4.5.10, 4.15.16). Note that this Sextus Pompeius (PIR2 P 584) served as governor of Macedonia in A.D. 8-9 and consul in 14; he should not be confused with the son of Pompey the Great.
