<p>Housing remains of Republican-Augustan date have come to light at the S foot of the *Oppian under the Nuova Esattoria to the E of the <i>ludus Magnus</i> in the Colosseum valley (*Vallis: Colosseum). Pavements and walls, destroyed in the Neronian fire of A.D. 64, were found just S of the modern Via Labicana; a black mosaic pavement with marble insets from a <i>domus</i> of Republican/Augustan date, also destroyed by fire, was found in the S part of the Nuova Esattoria (Colini and Cozza). Our map marks the position of these Republican/Augustan remains. For the remains of a compital shrine also found under the Esattoria, s.v. *Compitum: Vicus Cornicularius.</p>
